Cyclone Nivar : Landfall Over Chennai, Tamil Nadu dated on 27-Nov-2020

Cyclone Nivar Towards Chennai, Tamilnadu - Landfall expected on 27th Nov, 2020 :

* New system has been developed in the bay of Bengal and termed as Cyclone Nivar by IMD. There is also another system (termed as Cyclone B below) just below Andaman Islands. 

* You can see the High-Pressure Ridge @West-Central India, which pushes the system down towards South / South-West towards Tuty-Kanya Kumari (Refer below image).

* This push will remain active for the next couple of days. But the low won't be calling before next 2 days. Hence, there won't be chances for the low-pressure to hit South TN, 

* The reason for the delay in Cyclone Nivar 's landfall is it was stuck in the bay and intensifying in the same location due to the pull-effect from Cyclone-B (which is expected to hit TN Coast by Dec 4).

* The Western Disturbance will work in opposite side of pt.1, which will pull the system towards North TN / South AP. Check below image for better understanding..

* Thus, after such delay of intensification and relieving from the pull-effect of Cyclone-B, Cyclone Vaena is expected to hit in-between Cuddalore-Chennai on 27th Nov, 2020. Date-wise expected positions of Cyclone Vaena..

* At present, the models are showing the landfall will be over Chennai. Previous it was over Tuticorin. Let's wait for next 24-36 hrs to freeze the same.

Conclusion :

* Cyclone hitting TN Coast on 27th Nov, 2020 is for sure. Only the landfall area is still a Question Mark for us. Let's wait for next 24-36 hrs for better understanding of Cyclone Vaena and it's Landfall. 

* Rains will start from Tuesday across all Coastal TN and from Wednesday across TN (including Interior and Western TN).

* If landfall is over North-most TN, then South TN will remain dry once the cyclone nears North TN Coast & vice-versa. Therefore, the benifitor here is Delta TN. Landfall enga vena nadakatum. Engaluku mazha varatum. Dot. 😎

* If all gonna happen in our way, then Chennai will record one of the best rainfall records in it's history during this period.
